Lesson Plans 12/9 – 12/13

12/9: Students will create and interpret information from topographic maps.

12/10: TEKS 8.10A breakdown in journals – students will recognize that the Sun provides the energy that drives convection within the atmosphere and oceans, producing winds and vocabulary: Thermal Energy, Atmosphere, Wind, Air Pressure, Conduction, Convection, Coriolis Effect, Anemometer, Solar Radiation

12/11: Students will rotate through stations using anemometers, sling psychrometer, thermometer, barometer, rain gauge, wind sock.

12/12: TEKS 8.10B breakdown in journals – students will identify how global patterns of atmospheric movement influence local weather using weather maps that show high and low pressures and fronts and vocabulary: Weather, Atmospheric Movement, Air Pressure, Barometer, Humidity, Air Masses, High/Low Pressure, Warm/Cold Front

12/13: Students will become meteorologists for a day and create their own weather forecast using iMovie.
