Lesson Plans 1/13 – 1/17

1/13: Bell Ringer; 8.6A Pre-Assessment; ENGAGE activity (tennis ball); TEKS breakdown 8.6A – the students will demonstrate and calculate how unbalanced forces change the speed or direction of an object’s motion, and vocabulary: acceleration, at rest, balanced forces, direction, energy, friction, motion, net force, speed, unbalanced force, velocity.

1/14: Bell Ringer; complete vocabulary; STEMscopes video and questions, CLOZE-ing activity, Reading passage, Math connections.

1/15: Bell Ringer; 8.6B Pre-Assessment; TEKS 8.6B breakdown in journals – the students will differentiate between speed, velocity, and acceleration, and vocabulary: frame of reference, velocity, acceleration. Calculating speed and velocity worksheets (leave in class).

1/16: Bell Ringer; Calculating speed, velocity, acceleration worksheets and graphing speed vs. time worksheets (leave in class).

1/17: Distance vs. time graphing worksheet, acceleration and gravity parts 1-2 worksheets, force worksheets (2) (leave in class).
